In a Winter Garden

an acrostic by Oonah V Joslin

Geese fly south, a honking
Arrowhead. Overhead I hear wings.
Robin eats the apple core. Sings ‘more’.
Damp composting worms find
Eden; grown and tangled in a day.
Next door’s cat is never far away.

Lovely, visual acrostic. The beginning is gentle and then at the end it makes the reader realise that danger always lurks despite beautiful surroundings.
