July noted

Good morning.

I feel that there have been an above average number of editorial intrusions recently, what with the competition and all, so here is a quick, cursory welcome to the month of July.

This time of year is full of all manner of emotional events… the agony of the World Cup, the agony of Wimbledon, the agony of holiday romances, the agony of Weston-Super-Mare… surely more than enough material to inspire some cracking true-life short stories?  Personally, I’d love to see some more non-fiction coming into the inbox. They are often the stories that pack the biggest punch. So there’s the challenge for the summer – see what you can do!

And now please enjoy the July line-up.

Yours, pygmyly, Mel.
